BUPA's Cromwell Hospital is located in affluent Earls Court. It is a private medical facility that caters for local residents and private patients, including the occasional celebrity. Kenyon worked with the professional and client team to convert an existing ward into a specialist endoscopy suite.
The site area was located between private wards and consulting areas. Extensive diamond drilling affecting adjacent areas was necessary at the beginning of the contract. Careful and detailed liaison with nursing and consultant staff was required to ensure that these and other works caused minimal disruption to the day-to-day running of the hospital.
To convert the unit, a complete strip out of the existing facility was required, followed by the installation of new partitions, ceilings and bespoke joinery. The latter included barum framed doors and David Bailey furniture. The contract included the provision of specialist flooring, sanitary ware and wall and paint finishes. All works undertaken were fully HTM compliant.
Kenyon’s flexible approach was key to the success of the project, given that the work was unavoidably subject to frequent interruptions for consulting appointments in adjacent rooms, and for the occasional admission of VIP patients to adjacent wards.
